The Astronomical Society of East Texas has rescheduled SCHOOL NIGHT FOR ASTRONOMY, an astronomical viewing at the Mineola Nature Preserve on Tues., March 13, 2018.

This is open to the public and is especially for all public, private and home school students and their parents.

The program will begin about 5:30pm with solar viewing until sunset. Celestial viewing will follow at 8:30 pm.  The event will conclude by 11:00pm.

This is a weather permitting event. In the event of rain or clouds, the event will be cancelled.  An announcement of cancellation will on our website: and our Facebook page. There will be a “No Star Gazing “ sign at the preserve entrance. Makeup date will be the 15th of March.

Dress properly for the weather conditions. Be prepared for Mosquitoes-long pants, long sleeves. NO SPRAY INSECT REPELLENT!
